Pinch Valves: Stop the flow of water and fish by using compressed air to inflate internal rubber. This stainless steel constructed product protects fish from damage and the valve is operated by a KER PLC Screen.
Infeed Hopper and Tank: Its purpose is to handle large fish like salmon which will be received from tankers coming from fish farms via a pinch valve. Once salmon enter the tank they are transported onwards via a hopper for further processing. The tank has a capacity of 22m³.

Senior Lead Refrigeration Engineer

Responsibilities

Service & maintenance of Freon & Ammonia gas systems.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Must be available to work overtime, weekends and emergency call out as required.

Qualifications

National Craft Certificate (Minimum Requirement)
FGAS Certificate (Essential)
Full clean driver’s license
Ammonia license/Training
Experience with Freon & Ammonia gas
Good communication skills, verbal and written. With an ability to provide excellent customer service.
Previous experience in marine and/or Electrical systems would be an advantage but not essential.
Experience in Team Leading preferred.

Senior Lead Electrician

Responsibilities:

Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
Experience with PLC & Automation an advantage.
Must be available to work overtime, weekends and emergency call out as required.
Good communication skills, verbal and written. With an ability to provide excellent customer service.
Previous experience in marine or industrial electrical systems would be an advantage but not essential.
Experience in Team Leading preferred.

Qualifications:

Electrical Works On Aquaculture Workboats Completed

KER recently completed the works on the Seonag M which is a workboat which will be used in aquaculture/salmon farming industry. This was the last of 3 aquaculture workboats which KER were carrying out a project for. The Gracie Ava & Betty Bheag had been completed a few months prior. Below is a list of works that were completed on the boats.

Seonag M

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝:

•Designed/Fitted 2 x 240V AC electrical panels, 1 x 400V AC electrical panel, 3 x 24V DC electrical panels.

•Removal of old Perkins 250KVA Generator.

•Supplied & wired-up new Doosan 130kva electrical generator which is more economical.

•Removal of old Vacuum Pump & piping.

•Installation of 220V LED floodlights.

•Supply & Installation of battery boxes.

•All necessary cabling & rewiring conducted by KER engineers.

Gracie Ava & Betty Bheag

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝:

•Custom Stainless Steel battery boxes constructed by KER & installed with new batteries.

•New isolators for batteries.

•Earth fault panel designed, constructed & installed.

•New 210 watt LED floodlights installed.

•All float switches checked.

KER Install Infeed Hopper For Salmon Factory

KER recently installed salmon processing equipment for Kilkeerin Salmon, Galway, Ireland.

𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫: Fitted in Kilkerrin salmon factory last week. The tank’s purpose is to handle large fish like salmon which will be received from tankers via a pinch valve. Tank has a capacity of 22m³. Salmon are then taken from the tank via a hopper before being transported onwards for further processing.

𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐞: Works using compressed air to inflate the rubber interior to form a water tight seal. This will stop fish & water flow with a strong focus on protecting fish from damage. This valve can be operated using a KER installed touchscreen.

𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐞: Automatically returns water to the tanker.
